Location: Olympic Peninsula (not in the national park, so dogs are allowed)
Miles: 8
Elevation Gain: 3,010 feet
We did this hike on October 22nd. We took the 6:10 AM ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge and then made it to the trailhead by 8:10. There was one other car in the parking lot at this time. The hike has some steep sections, but overall did not feel like 3,000 feet of elevation gain. At this time of year we expected some snow up top, but there was barely any to be found. The views of the peaks round were amazing. We saw the other group that was ahead of us coming down, so we had the summit to ourselves. It is so hard to find solitude in the mountains, so when you do it is so spectacular. Just Ryan and myself and Cooper up there. Cooper had a blast running through the few patches of snow. This was a great day hike I enjoyed a lot. We hit up Finnriver Cidery after and it was delicious. Would definitely recommend this fall agenda with the cider to top off the day!
